I really enjoyed Edith Pattou's first fantasy novel, East, which is an award-winning YA retelling of "East of the Sun and West of the Moon," a Norwegian folk tale that kind of mirrors the Snow Queen folk tale, except with Actually, in Pattou's world trolls are attractive and look like humans, except they have hard, woody skin/5.
